Took the kiddos to Chuck E. Cheese on Monday with their cousins. The day started off nice enough... both older boys enjoyed the rides and games as Gavin chewed on some yummy pizza. But, there is something about the endless noise and stimulus in that place that wears down the nerves of adults and children alike. After about two hours, I was most certainly ready to leave. And so were the boys. In fact, they all conked out on the way home.
On a side note, usually Landon is terrified of any character in costume. Typical for a kid his age. So, when the costumed 'Chuck-E' started making the rounds, I tried to steer Landon as far away from the mouse as I could. Somehow, Chuck-E managed to sneak behind Landon as he rode a carousel horse. Fully expecting tears and a total freak-out, instead Landon took an instant liking to Chuck-E and proceeded to follow him around the entire place for the next 20 minutes. He literally trailed the heels of the guy like he had candy or something. But nope, Landon just wanted to hug and high-five him and kept repeating "Chuck-E, Chuck-E!!" It was one of the most unexpected and cute things Landon's done in awhile.
